
Almonds are fruit trees or shrubs with fruit with a stone resembling a plum. In nature today there are more than two hundred varieties of this plant. It can be food or cultural, ornamental and wild. Its main types are as follows:

The most common
Bobovician
It is found mainly in the degree or forest-steppe.
It is often seen in Siberia or Central Asia. The shrub is not tall. Its height is about 1.5 meters. The crown is dense and ball-shaped. It blooms with solitary pink flowers in May for about two weeks. Leaves grow almost simultaneously with flowering. Resistant to drought and frost.

The bush is about 2 meters tall. It is distinguished by its bright pink, fragrant flowers. It blooms in May. Fruits appear in October. Fruiting does not begin until it reaches the age of eleven years. It withstands frosty winters.
Ordinary
A tree or tall shrub. Can grow up to eight meters. It can be cultivated or wild. In the wild it grows in Afghanistan and other countries of Central and Asia Minor. White-pink flowers appear in late winter two weeks before the leaves. The fruit with the stone is suitable for eating.
Petunnikova
An ornamental variety native to the Western Tien Shan. It is a low shrub with a height of not more than one meter. Blossoms in May. It begins to flower only in three years and bear fruit in five years.
Three-bladed
It is thought to be native to northern China. It is a shrub or tree with a height of about five meters. It blooms in May with the appearance of crimson buds.
Self-pollinated varieties
Nikitsky 62
It has a high spreading crown. Fruits do not appear until the third year in September.
Rarity
Has a compact crown. Very unpretentious plant. Does not fear drought and cold, as well as many pests and diseases. The first fruits come in the third year of life.
Durkheimer Krachmandel
A variety of German origin. It is famous for its high resistance to frost. It is not often found in Russia.
The highest yielding varieties
Alushta
It has very sweet fruits. One bush can bear up to 49 kg of fruit. Resistant to frost and drought.
Victoria
Famous not only for its yield of up to 40 kg per bush, but also for the great weight of the nuts. They can weigh
4-9 grams. The first fruits grow on the fourth year. Perfectly withstands frosts.
Petiole
A low shrub about one meter tall. Grows mainly in the steppe. One plant yields up to 20 kilograms of crops. Frost and drought tolerant.
Steppe
Unpretentious bush about 1.5 m high. Usually grows in the steppe. One shrub can yield up to 20 kg of fruit. Withstands frosty winters and drought.
Decorative
Georgian
Grows on the slopes of the mountains in the Caucasus. Unpretentious. Famous for its bright pink buds.
Ruslana
Distinctive feature is the ability to change the shade of flowers from beige-white to pure white.
Uimura snows
Distinguished by its large, swollen flowers, growing in inflorescences. Their shade is capable of changing from pink to cream.
Steppe Ornamental
A shrub about 1.5 meters tall. The flowers are white-pink with a pleasant fragrance. The fruits are edible.
Fire Hill
A small-sized shrub with huge pink flowers. They can be up to three centimeters in diameter.
